DAY 1: ARRIVE AT HANOI (D)

A tour guide will be present to welcome your arrival at Hanoi, in which several colonial-era buildings remain on the tree-lined boulevards, besides the modern skyscrapers. Enjoy a happy walk tour around the ancient capital city, eat the Hanoi Street Food, and observe the Hanoians’ daily activities on the spot. Later, it’s time to watch the cultural and artistic performance of the Water Puppetry Show. Dinner will be served in a certified restaurant.

DAY 2: HANOI CITY TOUR - LAO CAI (B,L)

Breakfast will be served at a location nearby the train station. The accompanied guide will take you to the top landmarks of the city, including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, Presidential Palace, One-Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, and Ethnology Museum. Each of these famous tourist spots preserves valuable pieces of historical information to jot down. The city day tour will go on to the streets of the Old Quarter, and you’ll be interested in listening to the origins of the streets’ names which were called according to the local products. After the explorative city tour of the day, you’ll be taken to a cabin on a train to Lao Cai, heading to Sapa.

DAY 3: LAO CAI - SAPA (B)

Around 06:00 AM, your train will arrive at Lao Cai station, from which you experience a one-hour drive to a hotel in Sapa. Have breakfast, check in your room, and have free hours at leisure. You can take a short walk around Sapa town and see the locals’ activities. Then, spend an afternoon visiting the hill tribe village of Cat Cat, home to the Hmong minority group. The villagers welcome you to their houses and learn about their indigenous customs. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the town center.

DAY 4: SAPA - MA TRA - TA PHIN - HANOI (B,L)

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Around 08:30 AM, you get started for a 5km drive toward northeast Sapa, targeting a Hmong village named Ma Tra Village. Enjoy the cultural experiences on the spot. From this spot, you might like trekking for 4 hours thru the fields and mountains to arrive at the well-known ethnic venue: Ta Phin Village, which hosts the Red Dzao and the Black Hmong minority groups. Surrounded by mountains, Ta Phin owns a gorgeous landscape for sightseeing and photographing. Leaving the village sites, you’ll spend the next hours exploring Sapa markets. In the late afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Lao Cai Railway station for an overnight train back to Hanoi.

DAY 5: HANOI - HALONG BAY (B,L,D)

Around 05:00 AM, you’ll arrive at Hanoi train station. Enjoy a pick-up service and breakfast, and take a short rest. Around 08:00, get in a car for a 3.5-hour drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay – the best cruising destination in Vietnam. Embark on a cruise for sailing the majestic Bay and its highlights of the emerald sea, limestone formations, caves, and fishing villages. There will be time to visit a local floating village, in which you can chat with indigenous Halong fishermen and learn about their fishing traditions. Then, return to the cruise to have cocktails or attend a cooking class while marveling at the impeccable sunset. Dinner will be served on board. Nightlife activities can be movies, board games, beauty spa, etc. Saying good night to the legendary “Bay of Descending Dragon.”

DAY 6: HALONG BAY - HANOI (B,L)

Say “Good morning” to the gentle Bay and enjoy must-have activities onboard namely healthy Tai Chi practice and glamorous sunrise watching. Have breakfast onboard, and then be energetic for exploring a limestone cave. The cave discovery teaches you about age-old stalagmites and stalactites. Return to the cruise, check out and enjoy the last sightseeing minutes in the Bay of majesty. Disembark and get in a car for a drive back to Hanoi. You have a free and easy night in Hanoi Old Quarter; do whatever you like.

DAY 7: HANOI - NINH BINH (B,L)

Hanoi Old Quarter urges you to go shopping like the locals on the street alleys. Buy some souvenirs and enjoy the local street food. Next, if you book a tour to Ninh Binh (optional), start a drive for 2,5 hours from Hanoi to Tam Coc – Kenh Ga. A must-do is a sampan boat trip passing through the green fields, limestone caves, and forested mountains. The scenery is so photogenic that encourages photography of a lifetime.
